Airbus is excited to announce the launch of the second edition of its Airbus Original documentary series. The novel four-episode series will premiere starting November 24 on YouTube.
In “A220: The Maverick” the game-changing small single-aisle aircraft gets the cinematic treatment. The series will focus on uncovering a new side of the A220 with compelling testimonials from the Airbus experts who helped design the aircraft from scratch to the airlines who have made the A220 a key pillar of their fleet renewal ambitions.
The first episode, “Designed to redefine” takes us to Mirabel, Canada, where our next-generation trailblazer was created. A220 Chief Engineer Jean-François Parent takes us inside the birthplace of the A220 to explain all the innovative thinking that went into designing a small single aisle with widebody features that has become the true maverick of the skies.
Further episodes focus on some of the airlines that have placed their trust in this modern innovator. In the second episode, “Closer than ever” QantasLink Chief Executive Officer Rachel Yangoyan and Qantas Executive Director Fleet Strategy, Planning & Investment Bill Osmond, explain how the A220 has been instrumental to their mission of better connecting regional communities to major cities across Australia.
Next up, in Episode 3, entitled “Coast to coast” Air Canada’s Chief Commercial Officer Mark Galardo and Vice-President of Network Planning & Scheduling Alexandre Lefevre describe why the A220 is a passenger-favourite aircraft, delivering a superior premium offer for connecting flights across North America.
And concluding the series, Episode 4, entitled “Strength in the skies” Michał Fijoł, LOT Polish Airlines Chief Executive Officer, and Maciej Dziudzik, Chief Financial Officer, take us behind the scenes of the company’s historic decision to introduce the A220 – its first-ever Airbus aircraft – as the new face of its next-generation single-aisle fleet.
This Airbus Original documentary series is the second edition, following the launch of “A330neo: The Heir Apparent.”
