FAQ
What is the difference between the A350-900 and the A350-1000?
The A350-900 is the smallest variant of the A350 family. It comes in 3 different weight variants: regional, classic and ULR for more optimised usage depending on operators’ needs.
Do the A350-1000 and A350-900 have the same engines?
Both A350 variants are fitted with the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB, the A350-900 is powered by the Trent XWB-84, and the A350-1000 with the Trent XWB-97.
What is the percentage of advanced materials in the A350 airframe?
The A350 is made out of 70% advanced materials (53% composite and 14% titanium) resulting in lower weight and reduced maintenance.
Do you need 2 different certifications to fly both A350 variants?
No, the A350-900 and A350-1000 share the same type rating, so they can be operated with one single certification. This certification can include the A330 as well, as both aircraft families share a common type rating.
