Decarbonisation

Fuel optimisation, SAF, Direct Air Carbon Capture

Decarbonisation is the greatest challenge – and the greatest opportunity – facing the aviation industry today. The industry has set some ambitious targets: Net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Every action counts and it starts with optimising fuel efficiency

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) can play a crucial role in aiding airlines on their decarbonization journey by offering a viable alternative to conventional jet fuels. Airbus Services offers:

Up to 80% lifecycle emissions reduction compared to conventional fuel.

Up to 50% SAF blend use already possible on all Airbus aircraft.

100% SAF capability for commercial aircraft by 2030.

Even so, aircraft operating on the latest innovations still produce emissions that cannot be mitigated by other solutions. Airbus Services has the answer.

Carbon removal solution

Airbus Carbon Capture Offer: Is a complementary solution to address the residual emissions remaining from aircraft already operating with the latest technologies. The CO₂ is directly captured from the air, then injected into and permanently stored in saline formations, deep beneath the earth's surface.
