Lufthansa Airlines signs contract with Airbus’ Flight Hour Services for A380 support
Le Bourget, 22 June 2023 – Germany’s flag carrier airline Lufthansa has selected Airbus’ Flight Hour Services (FHS) to support its reintroduced A380 fleet. The multi-year agreement covers component support for the Lufthansa A380s which have been gradually returning to service since the beginning of June, with the help of the FHS team.
Lufthansa Airlines becomes the 32nd widebody operator supported by Airbus FHS, which now supports over 1,300 aircraft globally. The contract reinforces Airbus’ commitment to support all its aircraft, including the A380 well beyond the end of production, throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
The new partnership is driven by both parties’ mutual interest in safe, secure & efficient aircraft operations. The contract will enable Lufthansa Airlines to benefit from the best of Airbus’ manufacturer & engineering expertise, to drive down component removal rates and boost aircraft availability.
Airbus’ FHS will guarantee spare parts availability, generate value through maintenance cost savings and be integrated directly into Lufthansa’s own tools, processes and ways of working.
