São Paulo, 9 December 2021 – Itapemirim (ITA), a new Brazilian airline launched in June, has selected Airbus’ FHS Power By-the-Event (FHS PbE) material services for five of its A320 aircraft.
The material service FHS Power By-the-Event consists of providing standard exchange parts to operators on a paid-by-the-event basis, with guaranteed parts availability to secure their operations. FHS PbE enables operators to benefit from contract flexibility and with fixed repair rates.
“Safety is a priority for Itapemirim, and this partnership with Airbus will improve our maintenance service and streamline our processes to increase aircraft availability and provide a better service to our passengers”, said Adalberto Bogsan, CEO of Itapemirim.
“We are very proud that Itapemirim has trusted our FHS services and selected FHS Power By-the-Event, which is a service Airbus initially developed to support operators performing reduced flight hours during the Covid crisis, but now is specifically adapted for smaller sized fleets and contracted for a short duration,” said Yohan Closs, Airbus Head Of Customer Services Latin America & the Caribbean.
Itapemirim started its operation with five A320ceo on routes between São Paulo, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro, and selected NAVBLUE, an Airbus services company, to support its flight operations.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, Airbus has sold over 1,100 aircraft and has a backlog of close to 430, with more than 685 in operation throughout the region, representing almost 60 percent market share of the in-service fleet. Since 1994, Airbus has secured approximately 70 percent of net orders in the region. Airbus FHS services have been present in Brazil since 2016.
