Santiago, 7 April 2022Ultra Air, a new Colombian airline, has selected Airbus’ Flight Hour Services (FHS) for its A320 Family fleet. The agreement was announced at the FIDAE Airshow, the biggest aerospace event in Latin America.

Airbus will provide parts pooling, on-site stock at the airline’s main base in Medellin, components maintenance as well as engineering services. 

“Airbus’ FHS material serviceis the best solution to have cost efficient access to components required to maintain the airworthiness of our fleet and guarantee safety, reliability and availability of our aircraft in order to provide a great service for our customers.”said Juan Fernando Arango, Maintenance & Engineering Director of Ultra Air.

The airline will benefit from guaranteed parts availability and be well positioned to secure its operations as they continue to ramp-up with the incorporation of additional A320s to their fleet,” said Yohan Closs, Airbus Head of Customer Services Latin America and the Caribbean.

Airbus’ FHS is gaining increasing success around the world, now covering over 1,100 aircraft worldwide including more than 200 in Latin America. It offers material and maintenance services that help advance the operational reliability and performance of airlines’ fleets, while maximizing flying hours.

Ultra Air has a fleet of five A320ceo aircraft flying domestic routes in Colombia. The airline plans to expand its A320 fleet to open new routes in the years to come. 

In Latin America and the Caribbean, Airbus has sold over 1,100 aircraft and has a backlog of over 500, with more than 700 in operation throughout the region, representing almost 60 percent market share of the in-service fleet. Since 1994, Airbus has secured approximately 70 percent of net orders in the region.
